This homemade Sambal Nasi Lemak is cooked based on our original sambal to add a greater depth of flavours. We have taken our sambal and cooked it down for hours until it developes rich and sweet flavour, we then add tamarind, pandan and sugar to increase that complexity of flavour.
The sambal packs so much flavour alone, you could simply add it to plain white rice with an egg and that will be a fantastic meal, or add it with a stir fry to enhance the flavour with a chilli kick.
The sambal is so diverse, it will make almost everything taste better!
